That example you posted is competitively priced.
For similar money, you can get a slightly older car with a faster engine. Coming from a 100BHP VW Golf, I also had the intention of holding onto the car until it died, however I do regret not going for a bigger engine (only after 6 months of ownership) and can only pass on my feedback.
