Actually, I think it looks terrible.
The non-iDrive dashboard has clean, simple lines, and the controls are arranged logically.
The iDrive-equipped dash adds a deformed-looking "bubble" on top for the screen, and reverses the position of the radio and climate controls, resulting in lots of blank space on the console and generally leaving the whole thing looking awkward.
Worst of all, you lose that handy little cubbyhole in the console for storing change or lip gloss.
OK, I'm kidding about that last part...that little cubbyhole is pretty much useless. Although considering the limited amount of cabin storage space in the E90, any little bit helps.
