LI, no, I don't think so, but I can't really say I've heard the common ticking noise. From what I've read, the ticking noise can be caused when people don't drive the car enough and the VANOS gets sticky.
While I only drive it once or twice a week as of late, I still enjoy driving it in a spirited fashion once it is warmed up, so don't think I have this issue.
