Anybody replace their windshield recently? I got a quote from a dealer for $1k+, which seems pretty steep. Geico recommended another shop to me that'll do it for $4xx with BMW OEM glass that they'll order from the dealership. I have a $500 deductible, but Geico told me that if I get it repaired at the dealer, they may not cover everything above the $500 due to the fact that there are charges they think aren't necessary. What have your experiences been? The shop that does it for $4xx says that the dealerships don't usually do their own glass work anyway and that they contract out the work.
