We had a phenomenal time at a phenomenal event; Del Val was just great to us. For the most part we lucked out with the weather. Some new faces - Dan, Dunkin - and some familiar ones - Will, Dan, Steve, Rob, Art, Josh and myself.
There were a lot of cars on track, especially in the novice group which was basically a big train. I started in intermediate and was signed off into advanced, which is a lot of fun. Some high caliber machines in there!
Then there was the club race, Sat/Sun - very cool to watch (and listen to).
Friend of ours destroyed his Subaru into a wall off turn 1 ... didn't say much for a while after that. There was also an accident the day previous where an E36 M3 hit the right side of the front straight hard, bounced off and slammed into the left wall (grass was slick from rain, he just flew like a hockey puck). He was going about 110 at the first impact; we're guessing he just lost track of where he was to get into that situation. Everyone was OK fortunately.
