There will be nothing wrong with the rear brakes.
The parking brake is a drum brake that is inside the rotor.
If you take the rotors off, you will see the parking brake.
The worst thing that your wife did was wear out the parking brake pads or warp the inner side of the rotor.
This will do absolutely nothing with the workings of the rear brakes.
