A lot of solutions have come out for all these new BMWs comprised of a few LEDs in form of bulb replacements trying to illuminate the acrylic rings.
The stock technology is limited by the physics of trying to carry light thru a plastic ring, by reflecting it.
This has resulted in blotchy rings that are uneven, not brightly lit from all angles or bad daylight performance etc.
I solve this by replacing the plastic stock rings with real light emitting LED banks comprised of 206 LEDs!
My solution takes the most work on both our parts, but I strongly believe it's the most gratifying and worth the time and effort.
The results speak for themselves and in person make a bold statement.
