Well, you live in PAC-10 country, so it's no surprise that's your impression of college football. That's just the way it is out there. I wouldn't go as far as to say that college football in general is better than the NFL in general, but the NFL really has nothing that can match the atmosphere of the traditional rivalries. However, the NFL does have generally closer games overall with less blow-outs, but that's what's going to happen when you have a grid of 119 teams with continuously refreshed rosters. Just don't watch the giant-vs-peon games and it won't bother you at all. There's almost always a good football game on at every time slot on Saturdays, at least in Big10 country.... Here, we get a conference with a decent amount of parity in the early time slots, and then also great match-ups in the prime time slots. You have all kinds of choices about which games you watch. For the NFL, you have to go to a sports bar more often to catch the good games.
