You'd be wrong. I have a "real" OBDII scan tool as well. Torque reads any code that real one was able to pick up on and clears them. The adapter I got was the $99 Kiwi http://plxdevices.com/product_info.php?id=GSSTBLUETOOTH . I hear the cheap ebay ones work too, but are slower (some don't work well at all, so choose carefully). If you can't see your phones screen in the sun light to read engine codes, you probably have a shit phone and can't see it to make phone calls. I browes, text, watch movies and OBDII fault codes on my phone (Droid razr maxx) in the sun light with no problems. Also, it'll do a whole lot more than just fault code scans.
