Yes, launching the car from a stop is bad for it. However, there are people that do it dozens(or hundreds) of times and have seen no ill effects. I heard of a few xi drivetrain breakages, but the normal RWD layout seems VERY sturdy. I wouldn't risk it because if you're very unluck and something does break it will be very expensive to fix.
Of coarse, if you have crappy tires the car will just roast 'em lol
