Methanol in Cleveland
So, I told my boss I had to "run downtown to get some meth" this morning...
After explaining myself out of a probable cause urinalysis, I left work, went over to R&R Auto Body in Brook Park, and picked up a 5-gallon pail of M1 Racing Fuel, which is a fancy way to say minimum 99.95% pure methanol. The cost was $35 + $2.71 for the pail itself. They keep them in a trailer in the back and they had huge drums in there as well that were probably 50-gallon. Thanks to @07e90335imt_mike for pointing that place out!
There are a supposedly few places in Ohio to get meth cheaper, but as far as I can tell not in the Cleveland area. Mid-America Chemical on Spring Rd said they sold it for $34.50 for 5 gallons, but that was farther out of my way; it's likely their stuff is not the race fuel-branded stuff and they wanted me to place an order to have it ready to pick up in a 5-gallon container.
