I think a swap is a great idea. I recall an old article I read in sport compact where some guy put the old e46 m3 motor into his daily driven 325i wagon. Cost was fairly high, but hell could you imagine the fun factor in rolling on a new 335i and pulling on him...hahahah that would be awesome. I say go for it.
