2 door chassis means a longer rectangular opening, 4 door chassis has a beam at the B pillar to support the "box." Go look up chassis rigidity numbers for E46 sedan vs. coupe. Sedan chassis rigidity is 14,000Nm, while coupe rigidity is 12,500Nm. Since the E90 and E92 are both 50% stiffer than their E46 counter-parts, you do the math...
