Just pointing out that I wrote:

"Yes, it cold fail due to improper assembly, or a manufacturing defect in one of the parts in the system, but it is DESIGNED to last the life of the engine. The design-life of the engine is well past 150,000 miles."

So manutdas11 had an engine failure (sorry to hear that) due to a broken timing chain guide, which caused by either of the two scenarios I stated, it doesn't mean the timing chain and related components are a maintenance item with a specific replacement interval, such as spark plugs.
