I have been reading these posts for awhile, and this is the first time im posting. I recently decided to add a sub and amp to my car to improve the bass response only to have the trunk rattle (ghetto bass up the ass). I want to conserve as much trunk space as possible, since I have a kid on the way. I have been looking through the threads and came across this link, but how do I know if I have a ski pass?:

I also read about the SWS-8 upgrade. I guess my main question is what is the least complicated way (installation wise and time) to improve the bass response in my car?
My equipment is an Alpine Mrp-M500 amp and 12" Alpine 1241 DVC in sealed enclosure.
