My honest opinion, the fix isn't coming in the near future because it requires 1. new tables to be exposed 2. TCU reprogramming.

True story.
Most people generally rip 2nd or 3rd gear on the highway at most and call it a day.
However, in a sustained pull rowing through all the gears flat lining timing makes a huge difference in the performance of the run, compared to a single gear pull.
