I had a similar issue on my '08 X5... I removed the nav. screen, removed the anti-glare coating (which is what's scratched) with plastic polish, and then applied a clear anti-scratch self-adhesive plastic film sold for iPads, etc. (I purchased it at Best Buy). Lots of work, but it now looks brand new & is scratch resistance.
