Well, it took some trimming on both the silicone elbow and some trimming on the butt end of the AEM ... but it's in and I've road tested it. The 3" end fits perfectly. Thanks for the measurement BB_Cuda.

Was able to free up some much needed room with this mod. I put a qt oil container in the pics as a reference. Also had to remake the RedNeck cold air box for the AEM since I'm trying to make room for a catch can. I think there's now enough room, and will allow for minimal length runs for the crankcase fumes.

Also, the stock air box with MAF, filter, bolts and snorkle weigh in at ~4 lbs 10 oz. The AEM with MAF weighs 1 lb 6 oz. The silicone elbow after trimming it weighs about 1 oz more than the OEM plastic elbow. The Redneck airbox is made of pieces of kydex and pipe insulation. It weights a couple oz. So, this filter setup saves ~3 lbs off the front of the car. And there's a little more sound coming into the driving compartment. But I like that.
