Your original thread generated some polarised opinions, such as "I like old Porsches, but not front engined ones", probably born out of vast experience of driving air-cooled models of a similar vintage.

You and I both know why the 944 was voted the best handling car two years in a row by Car magazine

By todays standards the 2.5 lump could do with a bit more output but the feeling one gets from driving one is better than any diesel rep-box as I'm sure you'd agree.

I'm starting to look now for another S2 or perhaps a turbo.
