Best time of the year. Spring/Early summer is the best time to travel up the Rhein River and check out all the castles and Monasteries... The town I lived in for 4.5 years, Bamberg, has a bunch of good Brauhauses (breweries) and a very nice 1000 year old Cathedral among other nice buildings. It was never damaged during the war, so it holds a lot of history.
I'll be going to the local Christmas Markets one last time before I go back to the states, so I will snap some better pictures then. I'll just post a quick old one from the town I live in now, Schweinfurt.
