It has nothing to do with the tune, It has to do whit how you drive your car, with or without a tune. Of course with the tune if you're going to be at the track every weekend, then, of course the engine will take a beating. But, again, it is how you put the pedal to the metal that will really make the difference on your engine.
Of course, that in my own opinion.!!
