I recently used a BMW approved bodyshop as I wanted to enusre they used official BMW parts and paint. Plus I wanted to ensure that any warranty on the car isn't affected. Not sure if there will be problems if you use a non-approved body shop and then have some related problems.

Admiral recommended some place in slough for me that was Porsche approved I think but that doesn't mean they are familiar with BMWs - perhaps find a place you like and maybe one that sees a lot of BMWs.

My Synter dealer does send their cars off to Fastlane but they are BMW approved (so I'm told) and I got a little guarantee and associated paper work to support this.
