well it's a simple plug in device like your standard SSTT or JB+ so just take it out and pass emissions- here's what people don't realize though- yes new diesels have to pass California's stringent emissions to be sold in cali but what people don't realize is after that point, diesels, all of them, are smog test exempt in california!!!
