You won't reap the benefits of USB 3.0 speeds in your car, however, if you have a computer with a USB 3.0 port, you will certainly see much, much faster read/write times to the drive--i.e. much quicker syncing. Like the guy above me said, the drive is backwards compatible, so it will work in your car--just limited to USB 2.0 speeds.
