Try this:
After it kicks over to your music, double click on the button to bring up the lower banner that shows all open apps. Close the "music" one and then hit the button once more so the apps stop shaking. Then, touch the spotify tab on the lower banner and it should restart and work. I have to do this with Pandora every time.
