True, but what would you usually do when you get a bunch of stone chips on your hood/bumper? Leave it or repaint it? If you repaint it then your hood/front bumper will look "new". So its pretty much the same thing. Unless you are going to repaint the whole car which is not feasible.
Also stone chips on the hood that expose the metal is a rust waiting to happen. You can only patch the chip so much.
Putting plastic on the couch is totally different story cause you can see it and it looks UGLY!
Or some ppl still leaving the plastic on their laptops
With the PPF you don't recognize its there
