A friend at the dealership offered me a great suggestion. When I went in to get a new roundel, he asked if I would like to borrow their high-tech tool to remove the old roundel. j/k
He went in the back and cut a piece of nylon strapping that they use to band pallets. It worked great because it was thin enough to get behind the roundel and strong enough not to break.
