Yeah, it's tacky putting the M badge on the back of your car unless it's really an M. But the trim parts, shifters and other add-ons afaik are designed by m-tech. I certainly dont see an issue with using those parts. They are BMW m-tech designed parts for the non-M cars, not just M parts.
