But, having said that, it all depends on what the starting point is for these contests. With the completely different torque curves of these cars, at lower speeds the TT motor will have an advantage.

are you comparing a stock 335 to a new M3? If yes, then I can see what you are getting at.
any sort of tune and a 335 will jump a new M3.....torque rules in that case and the M3 simply does not have it.
