Thanks for all your input, very interesting to hear everyone's views. My thoughts were leaning towards Michelins (before posting this thread i.e. from reading other threads) and it seems the general consensus reiterates this.

I'm really after comfort initially, closely followed by grip then lastly longevity.

I think I'll make the final decision when I look more closely at the cost comparison as the Falkens also seem to be strongly recommended. Whatever I go for it can't be worse than the Bridgestone RFT's I've currently got (and a damn site cheaper than a replacement car even though there's a stunning 645 locally for sale calling my name however that would not make sense!!!).

Does anyone know whether the 'space saver spare wheel' which is available for the 5 series would be suitable for the 3 series with 18s. Probably doesn't make financial sense when compared to some goo and a compressor!!!
