Have you tried to hand rub the area with a polish to see how it reacts?

Plastic will react differently that paint so go easy as its super easy to twist the paint on platic parts, the edges of the grills are also super thin with paint, so watch them.

I would suggest 105 by hand to see, what polishes do you have?

I have not tried/own any polishes. only car wash and elbow grease.

by "105" , you mean meguiars 105 polish?
