There is no third party or power of attorney allowed.If the car is in someone else's name and he transfers it to you, you will have to pay sales tax again.If you don't have a lot of time, fly on Saturday or Sunday nite, pick up and drop off on Monday and return Tuesday.If you can get an early flight,you could be back in CA in the mid afternoon......
