2011 Annual BMW CCA Puget Sound Region Concours d'Elegance

Jul 24, 2011 - 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Cedar River Park

1717 Maple Valley Highway, Renton, WA 98057

2011 Concours d’Elegance & Display July 24th:
Join us for the 31st Annual Concours d’Elegance and Display at Cedar River Park in Renton. The show, along with nearby music, arts & crafts and other family activities will all be part of the many activities for the public to enjoy during the Renton River Days Festival annual event. So mark your calendar for Sunday, July 24th and enjoy the fun.

This is a special day for all BMW owners & enthusiasts to come together and enjoy each other’s company and display our cars at their very best. So, come out and be part of the history and beauty that make up BMW’s heritage.

Feature Car: E90/E92/E93 M3
This year, special attention will be given to the e90/92/93 M3 as the Feature Car. There will be a special area on the center lawn to either display or to enter your M3 in their own judged class. So bring out your M3 and be part of this magnificent line-up.

Classes:
There will be two classes to choose from. A judged class, with our famous etched glass trophies awarded to the top 3 winners, and a non-competitive display class with a chance at winning the beautiful People’s Choice Award

Judged Class:
Want a trophy to line your shelf? Here’s your chance. Cars are judged only on cleanliness and condition, not on originality. The judging criteria can be viewed on the link below. To participate in the judged classes, you must be a member of the BMW CCA, BMW ACA or Canadian BMW CCBC.

Cars are judged in three major areas: exterior, interior (including trunk) and engine bay. The underside of the car is not judged. A three-member team whose independent results are then totaled to determine a score for each judged entry. This process is designed to be as fair and objective as possible. For class competition there are bonus points for mileage, which evens out the competition for high versus low mileage cars. Taking the top BMW from each class, and lining them up for a final review by a 3-judge team determines the Best in Show Award. Previous scores are not considered as the judges choose the cleanest, most dazzling BMW on the lawn.

Judging Philosophy

Display Class:
The Display Class is a terrific way to take part in the show for those who don’t wish to compete but want to come and show off their pride and joy. Just clean it up a bit, and you’ll be good to go! You’ll be parked with others among the judged cars in your class. Display class participants will also be eligible to win the beautiful & coveted Peoples Choice Award trophy.

All participants will receive a Griot’s Garage sampler kit, a commemorative 11×17 poster, a cool refrigerator magnet and a chance to win raffle prizes throughout the day.

Sponsored by BMW Seattle and Griot’s Garage:

A Special Thanks goes to BMW Seattle for providing the beautiful glass trophies being awarded, along with providing fantastic raffle prizes and displaying examples of their newest BMW’s.
BMW Seattle will also be presenting the Honorary Best in Show Award.

Griot’s Garage will also be in attendance as the Official Car Care Sponsor of the show, while supplying each participant with a special gift. Car Care Experts will also be on hand demonstrating their top notch products.
Griot’s Garage will also be presenting the special Preservation Award.

Children’s Activities
We’ll have a special tent with activities for kids. Not only is the Henry Moses Water Park directly next door, but The Renton River Days Festival will have several other activities nearby for the family to enjoy.

Volunteers Needed!
All the fun of this event requires many volunteers to spend a small amount of time helping out before, during and/or afterwards to make this event a success. Help is needed from administrative, set-up, parking, check-in, judging, helping in the children’s tent, clean-up and several other activities. So come help out and enjoy the fun. Club membership is not required. This is also an excellent opportunity for high school students to work on getting some of their required volunteer hours.
