Opens to the public on Sept 17th thru 25th. But on the 15th and 16th you can pay more for a less crowded "trade days" (no accreditation needed!) - bc the entry fee's are higher. 45 euros for each of those days. Or... 13 to 15 euros for the 17th thru 25th mass cattle call show days.
I'm paying extra this year and going on one of these two trade days. There are just way too many people who come to the IAA on the general admision dates.

I'll have to make do with the crowded days as on the trade days I'll be in Munich doing the factory, museum and welt tours. Can't wait
