I just bought a 2009 328i xDRIVE with semi-high mileage, and I'm going to be replacing the water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, reservoir tank, and do a coolant flush.
BUT, I'm wondering if the e90 M3 water pump is compatible with this engine? And if so, is it worth purchasing over the stock water pump?
As background, I just noticed the M3 water pump on Turner's site, and it mentions an 'upgraded aluminum impeller' - I don't know if this would improve reliability...see links below.

I have 140K on my vert and it runs like a top. No issues whatsoever. So far I put a set of tires and brakes on it with oil changes every 10K. I think you're blowing a huge nut for nothing.
I plan on doing a belt and plugs in the near future. Rear brakes are due again. That's about it.
