Am sure it was much worse in the 1950s and 60s before any sort of safety regulations.
Saying that Parents didn't but their teenagers 400hp cars back then either. Two kids died in a Ferrari the next major road up from us about three weeks ago. Only the spectacular crashes tend to make the news.
