I'd say to the salesman, "I guess I won't be buying from you. By the way, you are working for my commission. You obviously don't need it, but why are you here anyways?"
Then walk to the next available sales guy.

Consider this is not an expensive product, such as a car, house, or even high-end stereo. This was an electronics product that only costs a few hundred bucks. It was online and not in person, so the guy couldn't assume I was poor based on appearance. 
For me, it totally turned me off to the sale. Why would I want to buy from someone who is such a snob?
