If he expressed it in terms like "if you have to ask how much it costs, than you probably can't afford it" then thats some fucked up shit.
But it kinda seems like hes just giving you a heads up. For example, saying that its not going to be cheap, but I don't have the numbers right now to give you an exact price.
If that was what he was tryin to say than I see no problem with it.
And you gotta remember, its hard to judge what someone says online than in person. Just imagine how many times people misunderstand what your trying to say on these boards and take it differently!
