IMHO it will make a great second car though. (Cheap, decent look, fresh warranty). I have a Jetta and you bet your a$$ it's the one getting ALL the snow/salt exposure.

In my personal opinion, BMW should also copy a bit the high-end models of VW. They have better conception for the equipments like (to name just a few) pretty nice cup holders, more storage space (or better organization of it), better rain sensor for the wipers, electronic parking brake, better radios, better OBC, adjustable safety belts. BMW is better for the performances, the exterior design and the driving experience (RWD) -no discussion on these- but they fall a bit short on some aspects. So, when you compare the price of VW and BMW, it's sometimes difficult to think you've got what you've paid for (maybe that's what BMW defines as "luxury"?
). We are passionate here, but we have to admit our BMW is not perfect and there are still some room left for improvements. It's not necessarily a bad thing.
