I don't think Nankang are as bad as they used to be, however, for a few extra quid you can get a Falken or something inbetween the Nankang and Conti.....
At the end of the day the tyres are the only contact between you and the road so not worth saving £200 over the life of a tyre!! The cost of a tyre is also minimal compared to how much fuel will cost you in the same period....
