I wouldn't jump to conclusions. BMW has replaced approx. 35,000 N54 HPFPs in the U.S. in the past year. If the problem was cured none of these vehicles should see a HPFP failure for 7-8 years based on typical 10K-15K annual mileage. There have been some reports of the recall pumps failing already from my local dealer.
A forum search will show that the 2011 models which are not covered by the recall are still experiencing HPFP failures so I'd say we need to wait 6 months or so and see what the reliability is of the newest pumps used in the recall.
