Don't have a pressure washer so it's a Gilmour for now. I find that a couple of caps of Clear in the Gilmour and quick damp down in preparation and you get plenty of foam.
I know what you mean re: polishing machine. I get the impression the UDM will be good when it comes out so I might get one then, no major need for one right now but would be good when I get a few more swirls/marks. I'm going to do some wetsanding one day!!!!

RE: Brush, gotcha, yeah I got one of these which is great for the m sport wheels and looks similar, can even squish under the calipers etc.:

Gilmour sounds good. I'm still not sure how much effect foaming has unless your car is filthy - I suspect more so in winter with the underneath of the car etc. as well.
