Bms it works just fine. Same methods been used on n54 with little problems. Heat shrink the connections instead of tape if you're that worried, save a few hundred bucks, be able to resell it later and it'll be just fine.
My jb3 pin out ( has way more pin connections) was done the same way and never once had to deal with an issue with it.
Don't let a few nutswingers try to scare you off. Worse case, I think they let you return it if you don't like it still.
