This is why people are scared of old exotics and why they depreciate so rapidly down to a certain point. The price of the car goes down tremendously but repair and running costs remain stable at the same level then gradually increase.
Its the price you pay. If this is the only serious problem you have, I wouldn't think that's such a high price for running a car like a 911 Turbo
I had a Z4M which cost me the best part of a grand to sort out an emissions sensor problem. But in the end the car cost me £3K including the repair for 2 years of M cabriolet motoring.....
Repairs are tough luck, but at least you're not paying massive depreciation on top.
