It has nothing to do with the way I burn it because the original 2014 DVD without the cams or speed traps works flawlessly including POI search.

If the category screen doesn't show I would guess thet the ENG.LSC file is corrupted or has something with invalid format in it. I would check that the line endings are correct (windows vs unix) and also tabs vs spaces for the lines you've added. Also check and make sure the IDX and URL files are not already used by another category, I guess it's possible the west coast DVD has more categories thatn the east coast for some reason.
