Actually, it's a nice conversion (Bigger turbo, head with larger ports, FMIC, WI etc) because of the way it spools - by the time it's really boosting, you've got grip. Sort of
There's a few guys now running that sort of power in Golfs/Leons/TT's on bigger turbos, although perhaps not quite as much as that one. Fairly cheap parts from the states and a good choice in remappers, including "off the shelf" remaps for certain big turbos.
Maximum FWD "fun" from a couple of Mk3 Ibiza's (same 1.8T as the Golf GTi) - one I think has over 480 whp
The Mk2 Leon Cupra has essentially the same engine as the new S3, the one on the RR page has fairly average mods (intake, exhaust + remap) and has 325 bhp and 395 ftlbs. Cheap power, that.
