I add a couple spoonfuls of borax to my wash bucket each time, it helps soften the water. Just have to make sure it dissolves well so you don't get any clumps. I like to use HOT water out of the sink, add the borax, and let it sit for a few minutes to dissolve.
Ninja edit: This won't get the current spots off the car, but will help eliminate the problem in the future
