Thats not true, I have 35% tints and NJ plate and i have been to NYC more than a couple of times just in past two months.No issues what so ever.

BTW, ACM i believe charges $50 for 2 or 3 codes, not exactly sure, do a serach there is thread specific to ACM coding.
With ACM you get a solid backup for any issues(error codes if any). They are great.
