If it's a broken wire, it will be back. I thought that it was a bad latch, and had it at the dealer twice before they figured it out. I would back down the driveway, and as soon as the back tires dropped off the easement, the trunk light would come on. I would get out, close it, drive down to the corner, through the intersection, and it would come on again.
