Agreed with Peter that track-oriented brake pads are a good idea if you have track experience. The OEM pads work - I'm surprised how long my lasted given how hard I abused them - but aren't in their element operating at very high temperatures. The stopping distances they provide just are not precise.
I actually think I'm going to do what I did with the Z06... go with a Hawk HP+ pad to learn the car first, then swap out pads and rotors (for track days) for some PFC 08s and some drilled or slotted rotors. I prefer the slotted because of the higher initial bite
